Sivantos Germany has recently decided to donate IT equipment no longer in use to the non-profit group AfB (Arbeit für Menschen mit Behinderung [Work for Persons with Disabilities]). Among other services, this organization provides people with disabilities with jobs refurbishing and selling, or disposing of, such devices.

Sponsoring work for persons with disabilities is just one nice result of this small gesture. In addition, we could help save 8,465 kg of iron equivalents, 15,190 kWh of energy, and 4,570 kg of CO2 equivalents.

The data is based on a 2013 life cycle assessment research study by the TU Berlin.
