Sivantos engineers are invited to events, fairs, symposiums and meetings around the world to share their expertise about hearing technology. Maja Serman, Audiologist at Sivantos, was recently invited to the inaugural Conference of the British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) as a R&D speaker.

As the Eurotrak 2018 UK study, in which approx. 14,000 people in the UK were surveyed about hearing loss, has just been completed, each of the manufacturer had selected a Eurotrak theme as a basis for their workshops and R&D presentations. Maja Serman presented “TeleCare, more than just remote tuning”, based around the Eurotrak theme “Importance of listening situations and satisfaction with hearing aids.” Here she pointed out, how research on acclimatisation to hearing aids influenced the TeleCare concept, which helps to increase satisfaction of the new hearing aid wearer in the trial period. As a result, HCPs recognize less follow-up visits, reduced return rates and overall shorter trial periods.
